Still in his early twenties, Manish is delighting the international art community with his use of vibrant colours and the thematic presence of
bells, one of the most powerful universal symbols. It is no accident
that Manish should have chosen this symbol. As everyone knows
bells loom large in traditional Nepali culture. In Asia, it no doubt
evokes peace. In America, we associate the bell with Independence
and of course…Liberty.
In this striking painting, Manish plays with shades of rich golden yellows and appeals to
our senses, plays notes … sounds of bells …sounds of music…Sounds of Existence that touch us…This is precisely what the artist seeks to achieve in his work. By extending the art of painting beyond its traditional limits, he is bringing the sound of bells and their mythical message like music to our
ears. Do you hear the bell?
